Project RD 200

So I mocked-up the RD 200 and it looks like it'll go together pretty easily.

I clearanced the insides of the swing-arm a bit with a grinder and it bolted up to the RD frame using the Suzuki swing-arm bolt. I'll have to remove all the unwanted brackets from the swing arm and weld on some brackets to mount the rear shocks but none of that should be very difficult.

The Aprilia yokes are a bit trickier. I'm going to put taper bearings in the bottom of the steering head and ball bearings in the top. I think the stem will need to lengthened a bit. The easiest way is to cut it and weld a bit in.

And I need to turn a new 15mm axle to suit the Aprilia forks.

And I just bought a RS 125 front caliper and master cylinder on Ebay.

So there's some work to be done before it's a roller, but it seems manageable and not terribly expensive!

I have to wrap my head around the look of the thing! To my mind, the 18" wheels look enormous and the motor is located up in the sky! It looks all wrong to me - I need to get used to it...
